About Us

In early 1993, a group of computer enthusiasts first met in San Diego, California to promote computers and computer user groups. The result was the first Southwest Regional User Group Conference. A big draw for attendees was a large computer show the same weekend as the conference. Over the years the computer show ceased to exist but the conference continues and grows. The conference was initially held at the Radisson Hotel in downtown San Diego. Outgrowing that location, the conference moved to the Hilton Hotel in hotel circle. In 2005, with the number of vendors participating in the Vendor Faire as well as the growing number of attendees, the conference moved to its current location, the Town and Country Resort & Convention Center – the largest single hotel and convention center in San Diego. The conference is still run, managed and put together entirely by enthusiastic volunteers.
